This guitar has amazing tone. I went to Guitar Center looking for a hollowbody gretsch, played several models and also of epiphones and then the Ibanez. Hands down the tone out of this thing on a Hot Rod Deluxe with the Reverb cranked up put the others to shame... SHAME I TELL YOU! Haha, so I took one home and it sounds excellent even through my little Vox practive amp. Haven't dusted off my old tube head yet to see what it can really do, but I am excited to. I gave this review 5 stars because I haven't heard of anyone else with issues and this instrument and it is such a great guitar BUT... BUT BUT BUT... I did have a problem my particular instrument. I have owned it for 3 days now and my neck pickup (the beautiful sounding one, basically)failed on me this morning. I have no doubt that GC will replace teh guitar, but I already love my axe and would really rather it be fixed than replaced. I am going to work with GC and Ibanez and see what we can do about getting the electronics looked at and sorted out. I can't review the customer service process because I haven't dealt with it yet. Trust me, I still love this guitar and am not returning it. I would upgrade the neck pickup on my own dollar before giving it back, but buyer beware that down the line it may be a QC issue with the build or with the parts... but, IMO I doubt it. Ibanez has been making excellent guitars for years and I don't think this is the norm for any of their products, including this one. I hope this review helps.
