I took a chance and did the unthinkable - I ordered a guitar on-line from Amazon 3 days ago (with free shipping). I've been a musician for many years, and even have a music degree around here somewhere. I tried this guitar in a local guitar center, but their model had a slight defect in the finish. I offered to buy the guitar, defect and all, if they would take $100 off the price, but they wouldn't. I was still in love, but decided to just court the idea of buying one. I've looked around but kept on thinking of this Rondo TL model. The day arrived when I was ready to buy one and I couldn't find any in any store around. The stores didn't seem to be in any hurry to accommodate me either. (You'd thin in a slow economy this would be different... ah well) Being a bit impatient I ordered from Amazon, knowing that with their return policy I could easily return it if it wasn't perfect. Well...this one's a keeper! The finish and colors of the woods are stunning, and the tone is just what I had expected. I love the tenor sound which doesn't get overwhelmed by the bass as I've notice with a lot of classical guitars. The thinner neck almost feels like I'm cheating because the playing feels so much easier. This hand-crafted guitar is an excellent deal for the money. I am looking forward to playing this with my amp for future gigs. Thank you Amazon! As always, you are amazing!

Kremona Soloist S51C Classical Guitar Review

I discovered this guitar by accident in one of the premier guitar shops in the San Francisco Bay Area. I wanted a small, light, compact and affordable classical, nylon string guitar for the occasional Classical or Latin Jazz piece I play. This is a 1/2 size guitar with a narrower than usual 1.73 inch nut width (for a Classical guitar) and shorter 20 inch scale. The guitar body is approximately 3.5 inches deep. It would serve nicely as child-sized instrument, travel guitar or for an adult who likes or needs a small bodied guitar. At any rate, it sounds and plays wonderfully! Warm rich tones, good sustain, plenty of volume & responsiveness make this an excellent choice for any musician on a budget. The craftsmanship is superb. It's very well put together with high quality materials. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone who wants a fine, affordable beginner or student level instrument.
(Please note that the Stagg STB-10C2 gigbag works very well with this guitar. Kremona/Orpheus Valley does not have or make a dedicated gigbag for this instrument. I couldn't find any other gigbag that fit it better.)

Ktone Sunburst 4 String Bass Guitar, Semi-hollow Body /W Bag Review

I ordered this bass for two reasons; price and quality of previous Ktone purchases. The pick-ups are the large soap-bar type and the fit of these pick-ups leaves uneven space around them. Through contact with Ktone I found out that these pick-ups are a change from pick-ups that did not work properly and he was having trouble fitting them. The one you see in the top picture is the first conversion and you can see that the bridge pick-up is crooked. He had two more conversions one of those received many scuff marks during the conversion process and at the time he was in the process of painting some instruments black so he repainted the front edge of that one with the black resulting in a tri-color sunburst. By chance that is the one I received, he offered to exchange it but I decided to keep it for one of a kind value, I will add pick-up rings to cover the gap. A jig has been created for pick-up installation on the newer guitars so future customers will receive perfectly aligned pick-ups. The bottom picture is one of the newer models and you can see the selector switch is antique white while the top picture is like the guitar I received having a brite white knob. Regardless of which color knob you get or if there may be a gap around the pick-up; these can be fixed for $10 in any color you chose by unscrewing the knob and using a screwdriver, these pick-ups sound great.

Kustom Defender All Tube Guitar Combo Amp Review

After doing some research on various small tube amps, I settled on this one. It's loud, it's light, it's relatively cheap, and it has an awesome blue pilot light. A lot of my playing falls under the category of 'classic rock' and this amp delivers that sound perfectly. The overdrive is good, the reverb is classic, and the tone controls are unusually versatile and expressive. One great feature is that, while the amp ships with EL84s for the classic chimey (de)Fender sound, the amp also accepts 6L6s if you want more of a mushy Marshall bottom. Very cool! I would compare it with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and say that it doesn't sound quite as good... But it also $2-300 cheaper! And excellent amp for the money.

A&L Ami Spruce Burgundy Guitar Review

I mostly play my Art and Lutherie Ami Spruce and I'm a guitar polygamist. It's a great guitar for slide work--bright, but not too bright--responsive, but not overly so--action comes perfect for the job--and it's cheap enough to smack around, dig into, whale on... and not regret it. It also does normal finger picking justice d/t it's balanced tone. I'm really in love with this guitar and literally take it everywhere with me even though I have guitars with deeper tone and greater dynamics. There's just an elegance and balance to this design. It's very playable and hangs out at the beach, by the campfire, in the mountains(it's also light and the Tric cases for it are featherweight), at the park, on the street, in the studio, etc... If I could only have one guitar, this would be it. It did take about 50 hrs of play to really break in and sound good. It was a bit too bright and thin to start with. Every studio needs one IMO. It has to be the easiest guitar to record and it's dirt cheap if you have access to a place that sells them. I've made a couple saddles for it to change the tone, clarity and action, but the original is the best all around one for sure. I've also tried a number of strings, but again the originals are the best again for this guitar. The builders really thought its design and construction out it seems. Certainly unusual for its price. Perfect for travel, the studio, and home.

I have this system installed in my Martin D18 Authentic. It is fantastic. Sounds just like the guitar does unplugged but
amplified for the stage. I am currently installing one in my Martin OM 28 Marquis.

You wont' go wrong with LR Baggs pickups! I use mine with a Gene Benz Shenendoah 150 and a Roland 60. Both have excellent sound and
adjustments suited to this pickup.
