I'm new to bassoon and am playing on a 50+ year old Moennig rather on a Fox, but a Fox C-2 is what I got when I got my (used) bassoon. Subsequently my bocal was horribly damaged and had to be replaced so I ordered this one. No surprises, it is just like the previous one I had! (Okay, actually my old one had a dent even before it's accident, so technically this is better than what I had before). Is this as good as a CVX? Don't know; I'm not good enough yet to know. But what I DO know is this bocal is FAR superior to several of the cheap "no-brand" bocals I tried.
A good bocal won't make you magically better, but a good bocal makes things a lot less frustrating.
