The new body shape has a slightly thinner upper horn and a more symmetric bridge end profile. The body is also chambered for added acoustic resonance. I took a risk in getting this guitar because i havent played on it before but so many good reviews made it irresistible. Shipment was smooth, arrived in perfect condition.This is by far the best guitar I've ever played in 12 years of playing. Everything on it is built for speed and comfort. Has endless tonal possibilities with 5 way switch and piezo pups. you can find the combination to any dream theater tone very easily but you can adapt it to any kind of music (blues, jazz, metal, folk, funk) and it always shines through a mix. low b is nice and tight under heavy gain and smooth and clear on cleans.
tremolo is the perfect for those who dont want the headache of floyd rose but still be able to use it frequently. it stays in tune very well and the setup was perfect on arrival.
only minor complaint would be about the 5 way switch being easily tripped. then again its a good way to minimize your picking movement and improve your technique. thanks jp
