First off this is a MIM, not bustin' balls as, I wasn't expecting too much at half the price point of an American assembly. Boyo, was I wrong. This bass has it all, and then some. It's build rivals the American as such that, if it were not stamped MIM? I could not tell the difference. Even the Strap Button screw holes are counter-sunk (sweatin' the details....nice!)
I will not say anymore than this about sound, "It can do it." Why? Because everyone uses a different Amp, setup, style etc. I pushed this through a Vox T-25 and was able to get any tone (growl, round, hollow, j & p, rick) it's all it the "touch" plus it's Active huck-a-poo. Once I installed a Badass II (hint,) and tuned her, it was smooth sailing and fast too!
That being said, I picked this off ebay at 1/3 the price new so, let's just say I'm overjoyed!
I almost forgot, as it doesn't bother me anymore but, she's heavy as a truck at 1st. Get at least a 3 1/2" wide strap and you'll balance out OK.
Fender MIM did this one right, the Deluxe is a fantastic 2nd Bass or main player.
