Although I didn't purchase this amp through Amazon, because at the time the availability was several weeks, and I wasn't willing to wait. This amp was exactly what I had hoped for. I've owned Marshall JVM and Soldano SLO heads before, and I always had a hard time deciding which I liked the best. And I've had Line 6 heads. And innumerable combo Amps, solid state modeling and tube amps both. On the 100 watt Marshall and Soldano I always used the Marshall Power brake (input attenuator) so I could glow the tubes and not have the neighbors call the police. The DSL has a Pentode/Triode Switch on the back that in a way acts as a power brake, sorta. But it allows you to cut the amp back from 100 watt to 50 watt. So you can crank it up and still get that distinctive Marshall sound. I've had the amp almost a year now and I have really enjoyed it. The clean channel is pretty clean and crisp, with both Strats and Les Paul's, and The Dirty channel is pure Rock legend. This is a great amp. And I paid more than the $899.00 Amazon has it offered for. So if you've wanted a Marshall but couldn't afford one. Now is the time. This is a good deal. Also check out the 1960 Cabinet to go with it. Amazon has it at $899.00 as well. Both are great buys.
