I recently purchased a set of DP123 pickups for my made-in-Mexico (MIM) Fender Jazz Bass. When I began to install them, I noticed that the bridge pickup wasn't going to fit into the body of the bass.

This problem is NOT DiMarzios fault.

Fender decided to use a the same size pickup in both postions on the MIM basses, while their American Basses use a slightly larger pickup on the bridge.

To their credit, when I called DiMarzio about how to proceed, they just said "Send us the pickup and we'll give you one the right size. They rapidly shipped me the new pickup and I was up and running in no time at all.

If you're somewhat technical, replacing pickups is pretty easy.

Simply loosen the strings, remove the pick-guard and the electronics cover. You need to have a soldering iron strong enough to be able to desolder/resolder the ground wire on the back of the volume pots. Just follow the wiring instructions that come with the pickups and you're all set.

The new pickups are very warm and punchy. They're humbucking pickups, so they're very clean sounding and growl nicely once you get above 8 or so on the volume pot. Compared with the stock pickups the Model J's really shine. My MIM bass now sounds great!

I love these pickups in my American Vintage '62 Stratocaster. Simply swap in the new pickguard, solder two leads to the output jack, adjust the pickup heights to taste for best tone and balance. I especially like the second tone control being wired to the bridge pickup, it makes the bridge pickup vastly more useful!

I've had this pedal for about a week now and I'm still 100% satisfied with my purchase. The pedals arrive on time the day they were supposed to, and the only downsides are that it had no assembly instructions, and didn't include a drum key. But other than that the pedals are amazing and I definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good/cheap pedal.

DJTECH USOLOFX Digital DJ Turntable Review

The firmware this will use will undoubtedly be derived from the U3, Versadeck, MP-X10, DMC2000, DJinn, and probably other names for the same 2ch integrated unit. They all have dedicated CUP/stutter/Cue-play buttons, which is a rarity. The parts durability, such as the buttons and LEDs, and sound quality are an improvement over the Xponent. The uSolo FX, however, also adds SD card support and makes the pitch fader 14bit instead of 10bit (Xponent also has 10bit, which is useable but not quite taking full advantage of the 100mm fader) and in a single player form that can be chained with multiple units. However, the 2ch integrated OEM design has a botched jog bend function when in internal USB mode and also does not support FLAC, or even AIFF.

I understand that American DJ, one of the brandings using the 2ch integrated version (calling it the Versadeck) is getting an engineering agreement put together to improve the firmware. If those firmware upgrades make it into the uSolo FX in the form of an internal mode jog bend fix (so it doesn't ramp up/down as you continue to rotate), internal mode AIFF or FLAC support, and they can improve the reliability of the lossless playback (wavs have a tendency to glitch-up and switch into loops), then DJ Tech, or whoever the OEM or branding front is, will have a true giant killer on their hands. I am extremely hopeful, but at $500 they are definitely making a HUGE profit and even at a lower price I would be skeptical that all these issues have been dealt with.

I will update this review as more info comes out, but for now it gets rated as the Versadeck would.
